Furniture is the slowest decision in a room and the one you live with longest.
The Mulberry Sage furniture collection favors solid wood, warm finishes and farmhouse proportions: walnut and oak sideboards, vintage-style buffets, farmhouse TV stands, two-tier round coffee tables, rustic metal-and-wood accent tables, rattan and cane accent chairs, upholstered benches and velvet ottomans, acacia wood stools and bathroom cabinets with barn-door fronts.
Getting the size right before you buy: a coffee table should sit roughly two thirds the length of the sofa, with 16 to 18 inches of walking room between them. A sideboard or TV stand looks settled when it's wider than the thing above it — a mirror, a television, a gallery grouping — rather than the same width. Measure the doorway and any turn in the hallway before ordering anything over 50 inches.
Mixing woods on purpose: matched furniture sets tend to flatten a room. Two or three wood tones — a walnut sideboard, an oak table, a rattan chair — read as collected over time, which is the whole idea here.
Shipping: larger furniture ships freight and takes longer than small décor. Inspect the carton on arrival and photograph anything damaged before signing, which makes a replacement claim straightforward.
